A Halloween Tribute to Vincent Price
The late Vincent Price had a long and illustrious acting career. While most of us likely think of him for his eerie characters in horror films, he had a distinguished career in radio, television, and movies.
Here’s the opening of the camp classic, The Abominable Dr. Phibes:
While Vincent Price and horror movies seem to go hand-in-hand, in real life the actor was an avid art collector and gourmet cook. He once appeared on Johnny Carson and showed how to poach a fish in a dishwasher, and also was a co-author of a number of cookbooks.
As a tribute to the gourmet side of this horror star, Nell’s Restaurant in Seattle has put together a gourmet dinner for Halloween Evening. I wrote more about it here.
If you’ll be in Seattle on Halloween, this would be a fine way to treat yourself, on a night that is otherwise filled with tricks.

The movie is a camp classic, and one of the movies price is better known for. Sorry you didn’t like it.
