A Little Taste of the Grape at the International Pinot Noir Celebration
I didn’t know very much about Pinot Noir wines until I saw the movie Sideways, with a plot loosely woven around this red wine. To be perfectly honest, I still don’t know much about it today. I’ve always thought that the wine was pretty thin, lacking in much flavor or texture.
Turns out, I may have been wrong, as I’ve been getting a bit of an introduction lately to “what I’ve been missing out on.”
Whether you’re already a Pinot fan, or are like me and just trying to figure out what everyone is so excited about, you can school your palate at the International Pinot Noir Celebration, July 27-29th, on the campus of Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. This annual event of seminars, tastings, tours, and gourmet meals brings together winemakers (60 will be there representing vineyards from around the world) and wine lovers (of all levels of expertise) in a ”summer camp” spirit and environment.
Take a look at the daily schedule of events — it sounds like a lot of fun!
Tickets are no longer available online, so call for availability and to purchase: (800) 775-4762.
Who knows, I may just become a pinot noir fan yet. . . .
