The biggest airline around here seems to have done away with service as a cost saving measure. I am glad that some airlines still have service!

Definitely! Singapore and Cathay has always been at the top of my list. Not only is the service onboard excellent, even their ground staff AND customer service (phone) are all efficient and friendly.

I’ve not flown on either Singapore or Cathay, but have met a few of their Flight Attendants standing in various crew lines (customs, hotels, security, etc.).
I find it interesting that while we share a lot of the same issues about the job, that they are consistently rated higher in service than even the best U.S. carriers.
Not sure why that is — maybe they don’t bring the issues to work, maybe it’s not as bad as we think, maybe it’s cultural. I don’t know.
I think I’m going to have to schedule a trip and fly on them!
