Bon Voyage 2006!
It’s the end of the year already. A time to take stock — to reflect and think about the events and people who made this past year so wonderful.
One of the very best part of working as a Flight Attendant is the ability to travel frequently, meet lots of people, and to form wonderful friendships near and far. Today’s a chance to share those moments with you.
Here’s my travel retrospective for 2006:
New places that I went in 2006: Baltimore (Maryland), Calgary (Alberta, Canada), and Cancun (Mexico). Okay, I’ve been to Cancun before, but since that time there’s been two major hurricanes and subsequent re-building, so it’s practically a different city. (It’s a stretch, but these are my reflections.) There should have been more new places.
Favorite places that I went back to this year: Victoria (British Columbia, Canada), San Francisco (California), Chicago (Illinois), and Washington DC.
Places that I had planned to go, but didn’t get to: Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Zihuatenejo (Mexico), and anywhere in Europe.
New travel experiences: Starting two travel blogs (the other one is The Seattle Traveler), and convincing a friend to write one, too (The DC Traveler). Your readership, comments, and emails have become an important part of my day.
Favorite travel experiences: Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, this time at night, football in Baltimore, and Yaletown with the Rossi’s.
New friends made while traveling: Aaron in Maryland, Ray in Dallas, Kelsi in Calgary, and Christina in Texas. Well, actually Christina and I haven’t really met, but phone calls, emails and IM’s count. (It’s my retrospective and I get to make the rules!)
Friends and co-workers, near and far: Anita (Seattle), Susan (British Columbia, Canada), Kathryn (Seattle), Reed (Kentucky), Stephanie (Seattle), Nan (Seattle/Sacramento), Wendy (Bellevue), Jon (Virginia), and all the other b5media bloggers around the world.
I’ll be spending some time doing some goal setting, and planning trips that I want to take, people that I want to meet, places that I want to explore, and things that I want to do. I’ll share them with you in the New Year.
It’s been a good year! Bon voyage 2006!
