Carnival of Travelers Information

This is the permanent informational site for the Carnival of Travelers.

After travel blogging for awhile now, I’ve met some great people, and formed some fabulous friendships.  It reminds me that blogging is very much about community, and that our collective knowledge is so much greater than our individual knowledge.

How true that is about travel. Where one traveler’s pain in another traveler’s joy.  One traveler’s Eden, is another traveler’s Hell.  Our diversity in choices, preferences, likes and dislikes, budgets, and approach to life in general, all help us to weave a fascinating tapestry of travel experiences.

With that in mind, I decided to start the monthly Carnival of Travelers.  While it was created with travel bloggers in mind, everyone who enjoys travel, or has a travel story is welcome to submit a post for inclusion.

But of course, we have to have guidelines.  Although we’ll probably figure things out as we go along, here are the basics that you need to know about the Carnival:

  • The deadline for submission will be the 5th of every month, and the current edition will be posted on the 7th of every month.
  • You don’t have to be a travel blogger, but your post must be about travel.
  • Send your best posts. You don’t have to be serious; humor and whimsy are as much a part of travel (or should be) as are facts and hard news. Choose a topic that interests you, just make sure that it’s in keeping with the monthly theme.
  • There will be a theme each month, and all submissions must reflect the theme.  Since this is about building a community of travelers, the theme will make sure we’re all headed for the same “destination” (theme) in mind.  The theme will be listed on this page, as well as on the submission form.  Submissions that are not on topic (about the theme) will not be published.
  • One submission to per blog please.

I’m sure that we’ll refine things as the Carnival takes flight, but this is a good starting point.

You can get more information about the Carnival, as well as instructions for submitting a post, here.  The current monthly theme, as well as past issues of the Carnival of Travelers, are listed below.
