A.M., or "ante meridiem" in Latin, means before noon.
P.M., or "post meridiem" in Latin, means after noon.
One letter difference, but if you aren’t paying attention it could mean missing your flight.
It always amazes me how otherwise bright people can get totally confounded by departure times.
There was a situation involving a friend who has […]

Last fall I wrote about 10 things you should always carry onboard. It’s still good advice, although a recent travel story from a friend made me re-read my post.
I had missed the obvious – carry on your electronic gear! Your iPod (or other music player), laptop, cell phone, Kindle, any of those thing […]

If you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to vote in this month’s poll:
How will the rising cost of air travel impact your summer travel plans?
Cruise over to the side bar and check off the answer that most closely explains your plans for summer travel.
I’ll be leaving voting open for just a few […]

I get lots of questions and emails from young men and women (teens) who “want to be a Flight Attendant when they grow up.” The common thread in the questions is asking what can be done NOW to prepare for the job LATER.
Q. What can I do now to make sure that I will […]

As I’ve written many times before, and most recently at the announcement that an airline would charge for a checked bag, the basic economics of flying vs. the price of a ticket are seriously out of whack! Although the cost of doing business has risen substantially, the cost of flying has not. In fact, […]

Q. Have you been on flights with any famous people?
A. Yes, although the term “famous” is open for interpretation. More and more “famous” people are opting to fly private these day, but here are some names that you should recognize:
Axl Rose
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Pat Boone
Betty (band)
Barry McGuire
Tommy James
Stephanie Seymour
Kirk Douglas
Gregory Peck
Martin Sheen
Ernest Borgnine
Jacalyn Smith
Tara […]

I was sitting at the airport earlier this week, and a very nice gentleman seated next to me asked this question:
Q. Do Flight Attendants have to go through this whole security rigmarole than I just did?
A. It depends.
When we are on duty and in uniform, we are not subject to the restriction about liquids. […]

With all the talk about rising fuel costs, charges for second bags, charges for checking any bag at all, and all sorts of other airline fees, there’s an equal amount of talk about the impact all of this will have on those of us who plan to travel this summer.
So I’m asking you — […]

The LIQUIDS & GELS restrictions has been in effect for awhile now, but there’s rarely a day that goes by that I don’t observe confusion about it at a security screening checkpoint.
With the busy summer travel season nearly upon us, it’s a good time to talk about liquids once again. The TSA has tried […]

Today’s questions is one that I’ve been asked many times over the last week or so.
I wanted to stay away from the topic, because this blog is not about the politics of travel. While I am candid about the fact that I work for an airline, I stay away from criticizing airlines, because to […]
