Flight Attendant Shopping: Silk Map Scarves
I’ve always thought of maps as a valuable travel companion. I love the ones that are laminated, so that no matter how many times you unfold or refold, they still are there to get you headed in the right direction.
Silk maps are now enjoying current popularity. Not a recent invention, silk maps have a long history, dating back to archaeological times. During wartime, they served the dual purpose of a map and a way to help keep warm.
Today’s silk maps are becoming a fashion statement, and lately I’ve seen them hanging around some very lovely Flight Attendant necks.
Tasaram’s Map Scarves has silk scarves that feature several of the world’s favorite cities. Paris has been their perennial best selling city, but you can also choose from New York, Venice, London, Rome, Berlin, Vienna, San Francisco, and Washington DC. The scarves have detailed maps of the city, so if you are wearing it and get lost, you can just take it off and figure out how to get where you want to go.
The scarves come in red or blue, and in two sizes: a classic, 33 inch square ($65), and a smaller 21 inch neck square ($30).

Too bad they don’t have those for Asian Cities! Too complicated to put on a scarf, I guess…

A pity these scarves are not available for Asian cities. Probably to complicated to put on a scarf! :)

Hi Ruth,
While the company doesn’t have map scarves of Asian cities, they do have a line of Asian Art scarves. You can check them out here: http://www.tasaram.com/index.html?s=aug06tw.
