Finding the right carry on bag for traveling may be a never-ending search. For some people, it’s not about finding the perfect bag; it’s about finding ANOTHER perfect bag.
One brand that I’ve being seeing a lot of lately is Timbuk2.
Popular with both men and women, rarely does a day go by that I don’t see on these messenger bags onboard. I’ve seen them used as a briefcase, with laptop, file folders, and electronic gear all snugly stowed. I’ve also seen them used as a general carry on bag, holding reading material, snacks, toiletries, and a purse. Additionally, I’ve seen the smaller bags used in lieu of a purse. The larger bags also look like they’d be perfect for packing for a weekend getaway.
The messenger bag comes in five sizes, from extra-small to extra-large, and comes in a variety of standard colors. You can order customized bags online, and specify your colors, as well as a variety of style details.
I purchased on of the Metro bags last summer. While not available in custom colors, it does come in a variety of nice basic choices, including my favorite “custom” color ““ black.
The Metro bag is a good traveling day bag, and is small enough to be a purse, as well as large enough to be a repository for maps, tickets, notebook, camera, make up, toothbrush, guidebooks, and a water bottle. Even fully loaded, it is not too heavy or cumbersome to carry. Pockets are conveniently located, and have Velcro closings for safety. The Metro is a good choice for someone who must travel light, while still having everything close at hand.
