Friends Are an Important Part of Travel

by Mary Jo Manzanares on November 11th, 2007

Luxor Hotel Las Vegas One of the best parts of travel is meeting new people and making new friends.  One of the best things about blogging is making online friends from around the world.  How cool is it when those two things intersect?

It’s very cool — and that’s what happened yesterday in Las Vegas!  At BlogWorld Expo — a time to meet up with old friends and make new.

Some old b5 friends:  CEO Jeremy Wright, Aaron Brazell, Christina Jones, Leora Zellman, and Liz Strauss.

And some new b5 friends:  Deborah, techies Brian, Lee, and Mark, Jeanne and Jyle, Geoff, Kevin, Darcie, and Gabrielle from our sales team.

It was nice to have the opportunity to meet Des from down under, to hear what Allen has to say about how Twitter pays his rent, and to meet Shama.

If I forgot to mention you, I’m sorry.  It was a busy three days, and with so many people, I’m bound to have someone slip my mind.  If that’s you, please leave me a comment so that I can rectify the omission.

Friends.  Old and new.  What an added bonus to traveling!

Great meeting you as well! It’s cool to meet non-tech people, I always enjoy learning new things, no matter what they have to do with. :)

I didn’t get a chance to go to the conference, but I agree with you about friends and travel. I have made so many friends by traveling, and then I get introduced to THEIR friends, only increasing my network. I have often traveled to cities I never would’ve seen had it not been for the friends that I had there.

Matt - you missed some fun times. Maybe next year. It’s amazing how trave expands your network, proving the 6 degrees of separation time and again.

Shama - You’re on for lunch! I’ll let you know when I’ll be in town.
