Get a Hotel Luggage Rack for at Home
If you have frequent overnight visitors at your home, you can take a page or two from some of the creature comforts of your favorite hotel: Some nice art on the wall, a decent reading light, fluffy towels, and maybe even a chocolate on the pillow.
Here’s another suggestion: a luggage stand.
You’ve probably seen these in most every hotel room. Even those hotels priced at the lower end of the spectrum have these racks. When you aren’t staying long enough to bother with completely unpacking, you can place the rack against the wall, toss your suitcase on the rack, and have access to your items AND a little more walking space in your room.
Since I always keep a packed suitcase, I’m thinking of picking up one for home. I’d likely leave it up on a near permanent basis, but they do fold up neatly for storage in minimal state.
This type of luggage rack is available in a number of stores and from a number of online sites. Priced at around $40.

This is really a great idea. We recently purchased a luggage rack for our home and use it all the time. Instead of placing suit cases on bed or edge of the bathtub, it now sits conveniently on this folding rack. Ours was purchased at a Beds Bath and Beyond store in Henderson, Nevada
