Gifts for Travelers: Getting Fresh
I always seem to cook a big dinner or have a little dinner part the night before leaving on a trip. This usually results in a few leftovers that I can pack with me on my trip. Home cooking beats airplane food any old day!
However, occasionally I have too many leftovers, and they get wrapped up to wait in the fridge till I get home. If it’s not too long of a trip, it’s nice to have something easy to warm up for my first meal back at home instead of being faced with shopping and meal preparation.
And that’s why this next gift for travelers will come in handy — the DaysAgo Digital Day Counter.
This handy little deice will keep track of how any days things have been lurking in the fridge. Or how many days it’s been since you’ve watered your plants (another problem encountered by frequent travelers). Or, for a host of other uses that can be forgotten by travelers and non-travelers alike.
The counter comes in a choice of a magnetic or suction-cup backing, or with a rubber band attachment, and will count up to 99 days before starting over. Batteries in the unit are replaceable. Check out how to use it in this handy little video:
The DaysAgo Digital Day Counter can be purchased through specialty catalogs, retail stores, and online. They come in 2-packs (a variety of colors), for $10. There is also a special edition pink counter (suction cup only) promoting breast cancer awareness ($5 for single unit).
With one of these little devices, travelers have an easy way to keep track of how many days ago it’s been. . . .

Oh gosh, I could probably use one of those, and I don’t even travel that much! Containers and jars slowly get pushed toward the back of the fridge and forgotten…

Yeah, it actually has pretty broad application, not just for travelers.
I’ve been on the road quite a bit lately, and confess that some of the contents of my fridge have a rather murky past.
