Gifts for Travelers: iPhone
Remember when having a cell phone was a luxury? It’s not any longer, and for travelers it is not only a necessary part of doing business, but also a way of keeping in contact with loved ones.
Phones are about a whole lot more than just calling people. How much more I’m finding out as I’ve recently received an iPhone.
I won this little gem in a drawing held by SharedBook following Blog World Expo. When I first got the notice that I was the “lucky winner,” I had to check the whole thing out to be sure it was legitimate. After all, I’ve been the “lucky winner” of the Nigerian lottery, and windfall from the U.K., and various other special deals floating around the web.
As it turned out, this was legitimate and I was a “lucky winner!” It was pretty exciting waiting for it to come, and all of a sudden my handy-dandy current phone seemed so. . . ordinary.
I’ve been exploring and learning what the iPhone can do, and having great fun at it. Friends have been a wonderful source of “how-tos” and I’m sure than in another week or two I’ll be a pro at all the features.
A very big thank you to SharedBook for what I’m considering an early Christmas present!

I still remember my first cell phone, it came in a black shoulder bag. And if you were in just the right places in town, you could place a call. Dropped calls happened more often than not.

My first was referred to as a mobile phone, and was actually mounted in the console of the car. My how times have changed.
