One dollar bill A nice gift for international travelers is money — specifically, the currency for the country in which they’ll be traveling.

There are many ways of purchasing foreign currency, through loading a credit card to purchasing at your local bank.

While currency rates change daily, as of today, November 29th, here’s the what one US dollar will buy in various currencies.  (Source)

Canada (dollar) 1.00

China (yuan) 7.38

Europe (euro) 0.68*

Great Britain (pound) 0.49

Japan (yen) 109.92

Mexico (peso) 10.92

South Africa (rand) 6.83

Switzerland (Swiss franc) 1.12

Thailand (baht) 31.45

*The euro is currently used in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain

    Yeah, the USD’s recovered a bit in recent days. The Canadian Dollar topped out at 1 CAD = 1.10 USD about a week and a half ago or so; I know cuz a bunch of my friends used that time to take a trip to Vegas, lol.
