Gifts for Travelers: World Heritage Project
A few words about UNESCO’s (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Project:
Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration.
With that in mind, UNESCO has compiled a World Heritage list comprised of 830 properties that it believes forms part of the cultural and natural heritage of the world, and which have outstanding value to humanity. Included on the list are 644 cultural, 162 natural, and 24 mixed properties that belong to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located.
