June Carnival of Travelers: The Photo Edition
Welcome to the June 7th, 2008 edition of the Carnival of Travelers.
The theme for this month was travel photos, specifically profiling the great photos that travel bloggers take (the requirement was that the photos be taken by the blogger).
Here, for your viewing pleasure is a little window into the world:
- Diane Robbins presents Travel Snippets and More: The Architecture of Buenos Aires posted at Travel Snippets and More.
- Jack Norell presents Shooting photos from a moving vehicle posted at Eyeflare - Travel Articles and Tips, saying, “On the road you often see some interesting sights out your window. Here are some travel photography tips on capturing photos from a moving vehicle.”
- Shane Sakata presents A Cemetery in Omotesando posted at The Tokyo Traveler, saying, “The roof of the temple in this shot was just visible over the cinder block fence of a parking lot in a very busy area of Tokyo! The cemetery in the foreground and the blue sky in the background make the whole image pop. I love this image and it reminds me that sometimes the shots that turn out the best come at the least expected times and in the least expected places.”
- Sheila Scarborough presents The Mast General Store posted at Perceptive Travel Blog, saying, “Features three photos that I took at the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.”
- AdmirableIndia.com presents Trip to Mudumalai National Park: Day 1 posted at AdmirableIndia.com.
- Ms. Smarty Pants presents Salt Lake City Capitol Sign posted at Ms. Smarty Pants Know It All, saying, “puzzling sign on the Salt Lake City capitol building”
- Amy @ The Q Family presents Wordless Wednesday - Caribbean Paradise posted at The Q Family Adventure, saying, “Paradise in Cozumel, Mexico.. Picture is taken recently on our family vacation with Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean. This is at Chankanaab Park in Cozumel.”
- Jon Rochetti presents Millions of Treasures Online posted at The DC Traveler – Washington DC travel & tourism information, saying, “Here’s a few photos of one of Washington, DC’s most stunning buildings - The Library of Congress.”
- angelinaaahh presents Travel Envy: The Gardens of Versailles « Wanderus - The Travel Blog of Travel Tips posted at Wanderus, saying, “Hi! I took all these pictures of the gardens of Versailles (Paris, France)”
- James presents My Vision Quest To The American West posted at Ways To Simplify.
- Kara Williams presents Molokai Sunset on Papohaku Beach posted at Traveling Mamas.
- And my contributions to this month’s Carnival of Travelers, Trevi Fountain: Three Coins in the Fountain posted at Flyaway Cafe, and Bellevue Community Park posted at The Seattle Traveler.
That concludes this edition of the Carnival of Travelers.

Thanks for including my shot on the list Mary Jo. The lesson I learned was that in these days of digital film just snap away. You never know what will be great and it’s not always what you expect.
