Manhattan Helicopter Shuttle

by Mary Jo Manzanares on April 3rd, 2006

There are many ways that you can get to the airport:

You can drive yourself, fight the traffic, and pay the parking fee at the airport.

You can ask a friend to take you.

You can take a shuttle, as long as you don’t mind making a few stops to pick up other people.

You can take a cab.

You can take a limo or a town car, and relax while someone else does the driving.

You can take public transportation, as long as you are able to lug your bags along, and you don’t mind being jostled about.

Or, if you are in Manhattan, you can arrive at the airport quickly, as well as relaxed and in style, now that U.S. Helicopter has begun its helicopter shuttle service.

US Helicopter.gifThe shuttle operates Monday-Friday, 7a.m. to 7 p.m., between the Downtown Manhattan Heliport (6East River Piers), and the East 34th Street Heliport (34th Street & FDR Drive) to the American Airlines Terminal at JFK and LaGuardia Airport.  The shuttle does not operate on the weekend or holidays.

The time:  6-8 minutes.

The price:  $149 one-way, $292 round trip, including all taxes.

Schedules, flight information, and reservations can be made at their website.
