Martinis & Manicures at the Beauty Bar
Some things just go together: soup & sandwiches, love & marriage, macaroni & cheese, horse & carriage, and a martini & a manicure.
Okay, so I thought those last items were only on my togetherness list, until I went to the Beauty Bar, on Manhattan’s lower east side.
It’s a bar. It’s a beauty parlor. Wait, it’s a bar in a former beauty parlor. And it hasn’t lost any of its retro glamour chic. The owner refers to it as a beauty saloon.
The concept has expanded, and now Beauty Bar is located in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin, and Las Vegas.
Each location has its own specials, and timing, but the bar is known for its Happy Hour special: a full service manicure and cocktail for $10.
I’ve only been to the NYC location, but now have plenty more reason to get to California, Nevada and Texas.

Oh yeah, come on down to Austin - I am about an hour and a half from there - and need a good excuse to go! I have heard of the Beauty Bar, but had no idea they had already branched out as far as they have! :)

Now if that was beer and they showed motor racing live, my nails would be in much better condition…
