Matchbook Monday: Moonshine in Chicago

by Mary Jo Manzanares on January 7th, 2008

Moonshine Matchbook Monday is back after a two week holiday hiatus, and this week’s matchbook is from Moonshine, a restaurant and bar located at 1824 N. Division, in the Wicker Park area of Chicago (map it).

I was at Moonshine last year with a group of friends, stopping in after the name and signage caught our eye.

While there wasn’t a still in sight, we did drink our hooch our of a Mason jar-style drinking glass.  Okay, so it was really a nice, local microbrew and not moonshine, but after a few jars, it probably won’t matter.

The bar is filled with comfortable couches and chairs, but otherwise the decor is quite unremarkable.  Service was prompt and friendly.

We didn’t stay for dinner, or even look at a menu, so feel free to leave a comment if you know more.

Moonshine is open noon - Monday - Thursday, 11 am - 10 pm, Friday & Saturday 11 am - 11:30 pm, and Sunday noon - 10 pm.
