Matchbook Monday: The Redhead

by Mary Jo Manzanares on October 15th, 2007

Matchbook Monday - The Redhead Courtesy of Jon at The DC Traveler, comes today’s matchbook from The Redhead, a Chicago piano and sing-along bar, located in River North, Gold Coast area.

“A flirtatious redhead looks fetchingly over her shoulder and lures you into her chamber…”

The Redhead has been around for over 50 years, and is a popular place for after dinner music and singing.  The best spot for gathering seems to be the standing room only area around the piano, followed by the seats at the bar and forward tables.  If you just want conversation, and don’t care about listening to the music, grab a table at the back.

Appropriate attire required.

Address:  16 W. Ontario Street, between State & Dearborn, Chicago (map it)

Hours:  Saturday, 7 pm - 5 am; Sunday - Friday, 7 pm - 4 am.
