Fly Away Cafe - Where travel is a way of life

NEW: My Wet Stuff

by Mary Jo Manzanares on August 29th, 2006

roll-aboard.jpgIt seems that new services, products and websites are cropping up as fast as travel security directives are changing.  I guess that proves, once again, that necessity is the mother of invention.

I’ve made it a practice to write about, recommend or showcase only those goods, services, products, and destinations, that I have personally checked out, or that come highly recommended by an inner cadre of trusted traveler friends.  But with things changing as fast as they have been lately, I don’t want to miss telling everyone about what’s NEW in travel.

So, I’m going to pass along information about these new businesses.  I’m hoping my readers will check them out, put them to the test, and let all of us know if the new product/service/website/information is a BIG HIT or a TOTAL MISS.

Here’s the first, of what will likely be many, new services.

My Wet Stuff launches its new website on September 5th, and claims they will make life on the road easier for business travelers who don’t want to check their luggage for short trips, yet can’t take liquid products with them in their carry on baggage.  There’s no product list, pricing sheet, or much information up yet, but you can pre-register for the new launch promotion.

Travelers can use My Wet Stuff to pre-order trial sizes of banned amenities, enter their travel date and hotel location, and the company will have a personalized travel kit ready and waiting for the traveler when they arrive at their hotel.  The company says the real value of its service is in providing an easy, inexpensive way to help travelers avoid having to check their luggage.

As part of the company’s kickoff, there are all sorts of special promotions, along with an early registration process.  There are also ambitious plans to offer special services for trade shows, conventions, and for companies with large numbers of employees who travel.

The real evaluation of this service will come after seeing their pricing list (are they providing an affordable option), and the efficiency of delivery, so be sure to drop me a line and let me know what you think.
