San Francisco: Bargain Bites
Food and beverage expenses quickly add up when you are traveling, and if you’re not careful they will quickly surpass the costs of getting to your destination.
Some cities are more expensive than others, of course, but why do those expensive cities always have to be my favorite ones. I guess it’s not as worrisome when you travel on an expense account, but when you’re picking up the tab yourself, you frequently need to keep an eye on costs.
That’s when it helps to have friends who can recommend their inexpensive favorites. If you’re in San Francisco, the SFGate can become your new friend, with its annual Bargain Bites.
Now in its 10th year, Bargain Bites lists restaurants in the San Francisco area with entrees under $10. Not just one or two entrees at that price, but at least 90% of the menu items must be under $10.
This is not just fast food either. Of sure, you’ve got your burger joints, but also a wonderful selection of ethnic cuisine as well. The listings give a short review of the restaurant, along with details about location, hours, payment options, etc.
I had completely forgotten about Bargain Bites, until I came across an article about it. What a great reminder about some fun restaurants in one of my very favorite cities.
