SFO’s Air Train is Now Operating

by Mary Jo Manzanares on January 18th, 2007

Traveling through San Francisco International Airport yesterday, I noticed that the Air Train has finally been completed.

I’m not entirely sure when this happened.  I was here a couple of weeks ago, and the “coming soon” sign was still up, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it operating this week.

I arrived at SFO in mid-afternoon, and was taking the BART into the city.  I’ve done this many times before, walking through the various terminals to get to the station.  With Air Train, you just follow the clearly marked signs (down, across, up) to get to the train.  Air Train stops at all the terminals, parking garages, and the airport BART Station.

Easy, quick, free, conveniently marked.  It’s a wonderful upgrade to the San Francisco Airport.

1 opinion for SFO’s Air Train is Now Operating

Newark Airport’s Air Train is a lifesaver for me.

It’s been in operation for years, connecting the three terminals (A, B, C).

I prefer Terminal A because it’s small and compact, but there are times when I need Terminal C, and that’s when I use Air Train.

Because the car traffic into Terminal C is dreadfully long and congested, I exit my car at Terminal A and take Air Train over to C. It’s a smart solution.

When I arrive home, I tell my family to park at Terminal A. I take Air Train from C to A and meet my family.

Less congestion and fuss in a world with too much of both.
