Back from BlogHer ‘08

For the first time since I started blogging, I took a long weekend off.  Did you miss me?
The reason for my absence was a long weekend away – to attend BlogHer ‘08, held this year in San Francisco.
What great fun to see Christina, Kelly and Elizabeth again.  We all met last year at BlogHer […]

Heading to San Francisco & BlogHer ‘08

I’m headed to San Francisco later this week for a little fun with some of my blogging pals, and to attend BlogHer ‘08.
I met some great people last year at BlogHer (in Chicago), and can’t wait to see all of you again.  A big thanks to beauty blogger extraordinaire Christina Jones for convincing me to […]

Go By GoCar

I’ve toured a city by car, bus, train, moped, bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, and on foot.  Each mode of touring offers different options and varying perspectives on a city.
Travelers in San Francisco and San Diego now have an additional choice on how to see the city — a GoCar.  The GoCar is a talking 3-wheeled vehicle […]

Browse Church Street Apothecary for the Usual and Unusual

I love wandering the streets of a city, never any specific direction in mind, just wandering up and down the streets, popping into any little shop or gallery that may catch my eye, stopping for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine when I get a little tired.
Wandering is a great way to […]

Top 150 Buildings in America

The American Institute of Architects announced the results of its annual poll and named the top 150 favorite structures across the United States.
Here are the Top Ten on the list:

Empire State Building
The White House
Washington National Cathedral
Thomas Jefferson Memorial
Golden Gate Bridge
U.S. Capitol
Lincoln Memorial
Biltmore Estates
Chrysler Building
Vietnam Veterans Memorial

As I browsed through the list, I noticed that although […]

Commuting Can be Eco-Friendly

On a recent layover, as I was sitting in the transportation van with the rest of my crew, I looked out the window at the mass of tail lights and exhaust fumes, shook my head, and muttered “rush hour.”
For those of you who travel to and from the airport on a frequent basis, I’m sure […]

Making New Friends in San Francisco

Last week I traveled to San Francisco, California, and had the chance to meet Jeremy Wright, b5media’s President and CEO.  It’s an odd sensation to meet someone you feel like you already know through email and phone conversations.
Also in town was b5’s tech guru, Aaron Brazell.  Aaron has a business-like title, but I much prefer […]

SFO’s Air Train is Now Operating

Traveling through San Francisco International Airport yesterday, I noticed that the Air Train has finally been completed.
I’m not entirely sure when this happened.  I was here a couple of weeks ago, and the “coming soon” sign was still up, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it operating this week.
I arrived at SFO in […]

This Hotel Has Gone to the Dogs. . . and Cats

What’s important to you when booking a hotel room?
Do you want a luxury suite?  Premium beds and linens?  Do you want a spa on premises where you can get a massage?  Do you like a stereo in your room and hundreds of channels on cable television?
Hotels are going all out to secure your business and […]
