Traveler’s Fever? See a Doctor
A study from American Academy of Family Physicians claims that around 11% of returning travelers experience febrile illness.
A slight fever never seemed to alarm me, but it turns out that it may be a bigger deal than I’ve imagined.
If you come home from your travels and have a fever, have a doctor check you out. And if you’ve been traveling in an a malarial area, treat the fever as a medical emergency. If you’re looking for a travel medicine specialist, check with the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
