Walking the Ruins at Pompeii

by Mary Jo Manzanares on April 7th, 2008

Ruins at Pompeii

I’m still traveling, and wanted to share another photo from the road.  This one is of the ruins at Pompeii.  It was a warm day, and I spent hours wandering the ruins and marveling at this ancient civilization.  There’ll be more about this fascinating place in a later post.

That picture is really great. However it does not really show how steep that hill is. When I was there my Uncle who is in his 80’s had a hard time getting up that hill. To be honest so did I and I am in my 30’s so be prepared for a bit of a workout if you plan on exploring that city. It is well worth the visit though.

Richard: Yes, there is lots of steep walking! I was amazed at how many people tried to push a strollers uphill and over the unever rocks.

I enjoyed my time wandering the ruines, and will have a more indepth post about Pompeii a little bit later.

Felicity: Thanks for discovering Flyaway Cafe and leaving your comment!

I loved Italy as well, with so many wonderful things to see, do, and EAT! I gathered lots of fun stories and information on my trip and am looking forward to sharing them with everyone over the next few months.
