Steveston, located in Richmond, is just minutes from YVR and a short drive from Vancouver. Bordered by Williams Road to the north, the Fraser River to the south, No 2 Road to the east, and the Strait of Georgia to the west, it consists of four distinct neighbourhoods: Steveston Village, Steveston North, Westwind and Steveston South.
Steveston Village
The Steveston Community Park is a 30-acre hub of activity that stands out in the community. It boasts a unique and expansive playground and waterpark, making it a popular destination for families. The park also houses the Steveston Community Centre, which offers a fitness centre and courts for indoor tennis, squash and racquetball. A remarkable feat of architecture, the Martial Arts Centre, is the first purpose-built Japanese dojo to be constructed outside of Japan. In recent years, the closure of the fish canneries has led to a significant amount of residential development, including the construction of several deluxe condominiums and townhomes.

When the sun shines, many people flock to Steveston to enjoy the great restaurants and cafes or purchase fresh seafood directly from the Public Fish Sales Float at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Steveston North is a residential area with many large property lots and roomy contemporary family homes, many with lush green landscaping. Residents of Steveston come together in a display of community spirit every Canada Day on July 1st to celebrate the nation’s birthday. At the event, guests can enjoy a parade, Japanese Cultural Show, Children’s Festival and more. However, the main attraction is undoubtedly the famous Steveston salmon barbecue, which features the grilling of over 1200 pounds of wild salmon filets over open fire pits.
